Fire at the centre.
The place
NIKULAND is a Melbourne Japanese BBQ restaurant built around Wagyu hamburg and a hands-on approach to dining. Drawing on teppanyaki and yakiniku traditions, the restaurant brings together freshly ground beef, charcoal cooking and sizzling iron plates. Hikiniku Don sits at the centre of the offering, accompanied by Hagama-cooked rice, house-made sauces and seasonal sides. Diners are invited to grill, mix and dip, making the preparation part of the meal itself. The brand's character comes from that combination of fire, food and participation: Japanese BBQ presented as an experience around the table.
Through the lens
Flame and food sit at the centre of this selection. The wider sequence moves between the grill, finished dishes, the restaurant and the people serving them — different distances on the same dining experience.
